What you can do

1.  Become a Trustee. The Trust needs up to two more trustees to join the Board. This is not an arduous role. The Board meets as a whole twice a year – or as needed. Some trustees act as a panel to consider requests for support.
2. Donate. We rely almost entirely on donations. Every gift – no matter how great or small – alleviates serious suffering in this very troubled country. Find out how to give below.
3. Support events. These are few in number and largely either to raise funds or keep our supporters and friends up-to-date with what is going on – in Afghanistan and in the UK.

HOW TO DONATE

Sponsor a family: this is something an individual or a UK family can do, as can local organisations such as a local church or church group, a local community group or organisation.  Simply email us at info@afghanrelieftrust.org for details of how to set this up. £4 per day is sufficient to feed a family of 6 people (£120 per month).

Additionally, standing orders, one-off gifts or legacies all help make the work sustainable. The Trust is registered with HMRC for Gift-Aid so gifts by UK Tax-payers increase in value to the Trust by 25%. A gift-aid declaration can be found in the 'downloads' section at the end of this page.

The transfer of small amounts of cash to specific families in Afghanistan has been the subject of intense scrutiny by our Board of Trustees, our advisers and the Charity Commission itself – who approved our registration after close examination of our due diligence. We have also established a finely tuned audit trail.
